Scouts need to complete the activity in one of the two areas.

Area 1 - Expedition - 'A jouney with a purpose'

Take part in a 2 day expedition (including a night away) as a group, planning the event and completing relevant training.

• journey for at least four hours each day
• use a map to keep track of your whereabouts
• stay overnight at a hostel or suitable campsite
• cook the evening meal and breakfast
• acheive at least one goal previously agreed with the Leaders

Area 2 - Exploration - 'A purpose with a journey'

Take part in a 2 day exploration (including a night away) as a group of an unkown area and prepare and present a report your findings.
The exploration element should last 4-5 hours over the two days.

• travel at least 90 minutes to a hostel, campsite or other suitable venue
• use a map to keep track of your whereabouts
• conduct the exploration within the an agreed area, collecting evidence and information
• stay overnight at the venue
• cook the evening meal and breakfast
• complete the exploration before returning home
• present the report within four weeks
